Inside the assessment
What a DEXA scan and VO2 max test measure
Two kinds of testing set your starting point, and the same tests show how things change.
A DEXA scan (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) measures lean muscle mass, fat mass and bone density with clinical precision. It measures your body's composition, not just your weight, and it is used as a baseline before hormone optimization or training.
VO2 max testing measures maximal oxygen uptake: how efficiently your body uses oxygen during exercise. It sets your baseline fitness and tracks your training over time.
The red light bed has six kinds of light, and each colour is absorbed at a different depth.
