Introduction to Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
A breast lift, also called mastopexy, is a surgical procedure that raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin, tightening surrounding tissue, and repositioning the nipple-areola complex to a more youthful height. Unlike augmentation, its focus is on contour and elevation rather than increasing volume. This makes it ideal for patients whose primary concern is loss of firmness, drooping, or breast sag after life changes.
At 8 West Clinic, we combine advanced surgical techniques with personalized planning. Our surgeons evaluate skin quality, breast tissue volume, nipple placement, and your overall aesthetic goals to determine the optimal lift design. Because each breast and body is unique, we work together with our patients to create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with their goals and natural anatomy.
When you choose us, you benefit from the expertise our team has built across numerous cosmetic procedures, and from our commitment to transparent patient education and support. We guide you every step, from preoperative planning and expectations, through your recovery and long-term follow-up, ensuring that you feel informed, confident, and cared-for throughout your entire journey.

Frequently Asked
A breast lift is a surgical procedure that raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin, tightening breast tissue, and repositioning the nipple-areola complex to a more youthful position.
Ideal candidates are women in good general health who are bothered by breast sagging (ptosis), drooping nipples, or loss of firmness. If your nipples fall below the breast crease when unsupported, or your areolae have stretched in size, you may benefit. It’s best to delay surgery if you plan future pregnancies or breastfeeding.
There are several approaches, chosen based on the degree of sagging and skin laxity:
- Vertical (Lollipop): incision around the areola plus a vertical line downward
- Anchor (Inverted-T): similar plus a horizontal incision along the breast crease
- Periareolar / Donut: around the areola for mild sagging
- Crescent: small incision on the upper areola edge (used rarely)
Your surgeon will recommend the most appropriate technique for your anatomy and goals.
