Open Rhinoplasty Incision

The incision used in open rhinoplasty is an extension of the closed rhinoplasty incision. Most of the incision is inside the rim of the nostril where it can’t be seen. A small section of the incision is placed in the columella (the fleshy portion of skin between the nostrils – this is called the columellar incision). The columellar incision is strategically designed in a z shape so that it is almost imperceptible when healed.
