Immediately after the treatment, it will feel and look as if you have a mild sunburn feeling for approximately one hour.

The next day you will experience some mild pink flushed skin, which is easily covered with mineral makeup. Your skin will feel hot, but shouldn’t be uncomfortable or painful.

From day 3 onwards, your skin will transition to a very dry texture for approximately 5 days (other people generally won’t even notice it). By the end of this one-week period, your skin will feel smoother, and you will notice a healthy glow.

While you’ll definitely see improvements after your first treatment, we often recommend 3-6 sessions, spaced every 4 weeks for the best results. We offer packages of x3 MOXIs. When you arrive for your MOXI laser session, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the entire treatment area to numb the skin. The treatment itself takes roughly 30-45 minutes and you will be asked to avoid certain stay out of the sun post-treatment. After the treatment, you will be provided with comprehensive recovery instructions, with details on how to keep your skin clean and protected as you recover. It is also recommended to return to the clinic at certain intervals to receive a red light therapy treatment, which will help to enhance and speed up the healing process.

The amount of downtime that you experience will depend on how deep your treatment is and what areas are treated, which will be discussed with you during your consultation. Immediately after the treatment, your skin will be red, feel sunburned, and potentially experience some pinpoint bleeding. We do recommend taking a few days off work, and to avoid exercise and exposure to the sun. Most patients having deep skin resurfacing will take 5 to 7 days off work and limit social activities for 1 to 2 weeks.

A micron is equivalent to one millionth of a meter, and is a common unit of measurement used for the skin. Post-treatment, the wound-healing response already starts to kick in as a natural response to the controlled micro-damage and resurfacing. It is extremely common to experience redness, swelling and pinpoint bleeding and light scabbing directly after treatment.

One day after treatment your skin will begin to flake and peel off naturally, and it is strongly advised to let this happen naturally and don’t exfoliate.

3-4 days from treatment you will continue to flake and peel as your skin continues to recover. Most people tend to take this as time off from work resting, as it is suggested to avoid putting makeup on during this period, and to avoid exercise (very light exercise is fine).

5-7 days from treatment you will be able to return to your normal routine. Mineral makeup can be used to cover redness, and you can resume more strenuous exercise.

The healing process is an important part of ProFractional treatment, as your skin will continue to gradually repair itself over the next few weeks while collagen and elastin are rebuilt in the dermis and fresh, healthy tissue replace the ablated skin. Two weeks post-treatment, once the skin has healed and flaking has completely stopped, you will already notice brighter, fresher and clearer skin—but that isn’t where the miracle stops.

Your skin continues to generate collagen and elastin deep in the dermis for the 6 months following treatment. At the 6 month mark is where your skin will have a significantly improved appearance, and the best of the results will have come to the surface, leaving your skin refreshed, healthy and glowing for all to see!

Once your skin has been numbed and you’ve been prepared in your treatment bed, your ProFractional procedure begins. Your medical aesthetician programs the ProFractional system according to what you discussed in your consultation with consideration of your concerns, desired outcomes, and tolerance for downtime. The device then gets pressed gently to the face in a series of strategic passes, allowing the laser to penetrate micro channels in the skin. With pain properly controlled, your face won’t feel a thing throughout the treatment. Depending on what is being treated, the treatment length can take from 15-30 minutes to an hour.

After your ProFractional treatment, your skin will continue to gradually repair itself over the next few weeks while collagen and elastin are rebuilt in the dermis and fresh, healthy tissue replace the ablated skin. For the best results, ProFractional treatments are typically performed in a series of 3 or more sessions, which are spaced out approximately 6 weeks in between. Upon completion of your treatments and your healing over about 6 more months, your skin will have a significantly improved appearance whether smoothing out acne scars and surgical scars, smoothing deeper wrinkles or age lines, correcting melasma, or fading brown spots.

With the ability to treat deeper into the dermis than many other laser resurfacing technologies, more optimal results can be achieved for more moderate concerns like scar removal and wrinkle smoothing in a smaller number of treatment sessions—without the compromise of an extensive downtime period.

Potenza RF microneedling is a non-invasive treatment that can be performed on any part of the face or body that takes only about 30 minutes. The treatment is pain-minimal, but you will have the option for a topical numbing ointment if you would prefer, which takes about 20-30 minutes to take effect prior to treatment.

The treatment has you in a reclined and relaxed position, and the Potenza RF microneedling pen is gently stamped over your treatment area. Much like traditional microneedling, Potenza uses ultra fine needles that rapidly move to penetrate into the dermis to create controlled damage. Where this treatment differs from traditional microneedling is that as this happens, the machine also uses radiofrequency to deliver either a monopolar or bipolar energy wavelength, adding heat deeper into the skin, stimulating significant collagen and elastin production.

The beauty of this revolutionary treatment is how it treats the deeper layers of the skin using monopolar or bipolar energy in tandem with controlled resurfacing to the upper layers, simultaneously. ‍The addition of monopolar and bipolar energy wavelengths is what makes this treatment so customizable, and available to those with darker skin types.

• ‍Bipolar wavelengths are a more superficial, wider delivery of energy and is great for skin types 1-3 (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can be a risk for darker skin types).
• ‍Monopolar wavelengths are deeper, more focused delivery of energy, which allows for treatment of all skin types. Most skin treatment machines only offer the bipolar wavelength.

During the treatment session, you will lie down in a private treatment room while the EMFACE applicators are placed on the targeted areas of your face. You’ll feel the device emit high-intensity electromagnetic waves that cause involuntary muscle contractions, which can feel like an intense facial workout. You may also feel a warming sensation, similar to the feeling of a hot stone massage, as the device emits radiofrequency energy in the deep layers of your skin.

There is no pre-preparation required for this procedure, but your medical aesthetician will have asked you to come to your treatment making sure you are well-hydrated. The more hydrated your skin and muscle tissues are, the less resistance they will have towards the radiofrequency energy being used with EMFACE. This allows the energy to travel more efficiently in order to selectively heat in your skin’s dermis layer. Ultimately, this means a more effective but also a more comfortable treatment.

Each treatment session typically lasts a quick 20 minutes, and you will be able to resume your regular activities immediately after the session.

Results can vary depending on the individual, but you will begin to feel tangible results immediately after the treatments. Your skin will look firmer and more youthful, and you may notice a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Optimal results are typically seen about 3 months after completing your EMFACE treatment plan, which for most will consist of 4 sessions spaced about 1 week apart. On average, patients will find their EMFACE results lasting between 6 months to 1 year. You can come in for maintenance sessions anytime within the 6 months to 1 year.

EMFACE treatments are performed as an in-office procedure by your treatment provider. It begins with your treatment provider cleansing your face and ensuring the targeted areas are prepped for the most efficient treatment.

The node-like EMFACE applicators attached to the machine are then comfortably taped on the surface of your skin at the precise treatment areas of the forehead and cheeks, in accordance with your facial anatomy. Once your medical aesthetician customizes the machine to your required settings and activates the treatment, the applicators will emit a series of small electrical impulses and radiofrequency energy to the underlying facial muscles and tissues, causing them to contract and relax at varying intensities. This process helps to tone and lift the facial muscles while also stimulating collagen production for improved skin texture. From here, the process is automated and will continue for a duration of 20 minutes.

After the session, your provider will remove the applicators and apply a medical-grade moisturizer or serum to soothe and hydrate your skin, completing the treatment.

Spider veins are caused when the veins that carry blood back to the heart become damaged or weak. For the week following the treatment, you can expect some stinging and swelling around the injection site. It takes between 4-6 weeks for the deoxycholic acid to work in the body, and for you to begin to start to see the results. It’s important to keep your treatment plan in mind, as just one treatment may not deliver the complete results you are after. Your treatment sessions will require you to be in a relaxed, reclined position. Your treatment provider will mark a series of injection points under your chin, which will be in a grid-like pattern. Which technique is used depends on a number of deciding factors, and depends on the candidacy of each individual patient. During your in-person consultation with Dr. Buonassisi, the technique that is optimal for you will be discussed.

Incisional Technique: Dr. Buonassisi carefully makes fine incisions in the upper eyelid skin, and removes any excess skin and fat that is necessary. The incision is then sealed using stitches, and the surgical scar is hidden in the new eyelid crease. Double eyelid surgery takes approximately 1 hour, and patients can return home the same day.

Suture Technique: Rather than making an incision and removing fat and skin, the suture technique (as the name indicates) utilizes a number of small incisions, and surgical thread being placed throughout the eyelid to create a crease. The suture remains in the eyelid, and will compress the eyelid skin to create the crease. This technique can be revised and altered at a later date, by removing the suture, and repeating the procedure.

If you were born with eyelids that do not have a crease, or your creases are asymmetrical, and you are bothered with the appearance of closed, puffy upper eyelids, double eyelid surgery may be the ideal option for you.

You may be a candidate for double eyelid surgery if you have any of the following physical features:

• Single eyelid (no upper eyelid fold)
• Asymmetrical upper eyelid folds
• Single or asymmetrical eyelid and puffy upper eyelids characterized by excess eyelid skin

An incision is placed just underneath the chin where it is easily hidden. The skin of the neck is elevated to expose the underlying fat. If there is extra fat, it is removed either directly or with liposuction. If the patient has a lax platysma muscle, it is tightly bound with sutures. This allows for significant structural support for the neck and a defined neck angle. If the patient’s chin is recessive, a chin implant is used to create a more prominent chin area. The incisions are closed with dissolvable stitches. A compression garment must then be worn diligently for several weeks after the surgery.

Patients with any combination of features including: a lax platysma muscle, excess fat in the neck area, and/or a recessive chin may be candidates for a double chin surgery. Double chin surgery may be appropriate for younger patients under the age of 40 who don’t have any lower face or neck skin laxity. Patients over the age of 40 typically have lower face laxity that would render double chin surgery ineffective. Patients over the age of 40 who have a poor neck angle or double chin are also typically looking for an improvement in the jowls, jawline, and cheek area—making them more ideal candidates for lower facelift surgery.

For patients who would benefit from liposuction alone, tiny incisions are placed in the neck area where they are easily hidden. Excess fat is gently removed with liposuction. The incisions are closed with dissolvable stitches. A compression garment is worn after surgery to help the skin retract back onto the new neck shape.

Neck liposuction surgery is ideal for people of all ages who are frustrated with the appearance of a fuller neck that lacks definition. This surgery is not appropriate for patients who are looking for an improvement in the lower face area, such as the jawline or jowls—these patients may be candidates for facelift surgery.

For people who want a rhinoplasty, it is tempting to want to focus strictly on how the nose will look after surgery. Your motivation should be to find a surgeon who has extensive experience with the nose both functionally and cosmetically. Many rhinoplasties will require that changes be made to the septum (the wall of cartilage that separates the two nasal airways) which can affect your breathing. Immediately after the treatment, the area may seem a bit red or swollen, but it will be practically unoticeable that you had any treatment done at all. In the days that follow, you may experience a little bruising if you find that you do bruise easily (this is due to the suction of the machine).

The treatment area will feel quite numb for the days that follow, with almost a pins-and-needles sensation, but you won’t experience any pain.

The majority of the dermal fillers we use are based on hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring substance in the body. Most patients begin to see diminished lines and wrinkles within a few days of their neuromodulator treatment, and you’ll see the full results within 14 days.

Each injection treatment takes only a few minutes to complete, and you can return to work or your other normal activities right away. It’s also safe to gently put makeup on within a few minutes of your treatment if you want to cover any redness. Any small red areas will only be visible immediately after the treatment and will reduce in a short period of time post-treatment.

We suggest that people do not perform any strenuous exercise post-treatment, but light cardio is fine. We also ask that people do not lie down for 6 hours post-treatment, as this increases the risk of the product migrating to other muscles/areas.

Wrinkle relaxing injections create smoother skin that lasts for 3 to 4 months for most people before another visit is required.

Wrinkle relaxing injections, or neuromodulators, are a botulinum toxin, meaning that they work to relax the muscles which they are injected into. Lines and wrinkles are formed from the natural expressions, and are categorized into two different types; dynamic and static.

• Dynamic Wrinkles are those caused by making certain expressions; the lines by our mouth when laughing and smiling, the creases on your forehead when you frown or are focusing. These lines come and go with your expressions, but after a while can leave more permanent marks on your face.

• Static Wrinkles are etched more permanently in our skin, and will remain during a neutral facial expression.

When used in small doses, neuromodulators subtly relax the muscles that form lines and wrinkles. When it comes to healing, post-operative labiaplasty pain is minimal and can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication or a prescription. You will experience significant swelling and some bruising after your surgery. Most of the swelling will go down after 2 weeks but it typically takes about 6 weeks for all of the swelling to subside.

Those who are diligent about following Dr. Buonassisi’s post-operative care instructions may be able to resume some non-strenuous activities 3 to 4 days after surgery, and you’ll be back to your regular exercise and activity after about 4 weeks.

Once fully recovered, labiaplasty will not interfere with normal vaginal sensations, the ability to have intercourse, or the ability to have orgasms.

For some, the inner labia are longer than the outer labia, and labiaplasty surgery involves trimming the excess labia minora tissue that protrudes past the labia majora. Dr. Buonassisi will carefully measure the labia before marking them, to then (while you are under anesthesia) carefully trim excess tissue away, and closing the incisions with sutures. Most patients take at least 1 week off of work to recover from their brow lift. Stitches are removed approximately 1 week after surgery. You’ll need to take 3 to 4 weeks off from vigorous exercise and activities to allow for proper healing and to minimize swelling. You’ll see a significant change right after surgery, but it takes a couple of weeks for the brows to settle into their natural position. How long does a brow lift last? A brow lift can last for years, even up to a decade, but over time, the face and skin will still continue to age as normal.

Brow lift surgery takes an average of 1-2 hours. Most brow lift surgeries are performed by carefully and strategically removing sections of the skin anywhere between the upper brow area and into the hairline above the forehead, depending on the amount of lift required. Dr. Buonassisi will then strategically place stitches to achieve the lifting action of the surgery, ensuring the placement of these is in natural creases in the forehead or within the hair of the upper brow or the hairline to ensure any scarring is tactfully hidden.

For the endoscopic brow lift approach, Dr. Buonassisi makes a small incision—approximately 2 cm long—in the scalp, behind the hairline. He uses an endoscope (a surgical camera) and special tools to access the brow structures beneath the skin, allowing him to mobilize the various structural layers in the forehead to create a deeper lift across a larger area that isn’t just a skin lift. The mobilized layers are strategically repositioned to create the ideal elevation of the brow, and are then secured with sutures higher up in the scalp with no trimming of skin required. The incision is closed with very fine stitches.

We suggest that patients take about a week off of work, and about 2 weeks off from strenuous activities and exercise. Most patients are comfortable being back in the public eye after a couple of weeks, but full recovery takes several months. There are no visible scars from the incisions. You can expect to enjoy your results for at least 10 to 15 years, but as you age, your skin will begin to naturally droop over time.

Blepharoplasty (depending on the specific technique) typically takes around 1 hour and is performed under local anesthesia. Blepharoplasty requires removing excess skin and fat to help rejuvenate your appearance, and bring focus back to your beautiful eyes. Dr. Buonassisi will begin the surgery by carefully measuring the skin that needs to be removed. Then, precise incisions are made to remove the skin in such a way that the stitching is hidden within natural creases of the skin. Once the sufficient amount of skin, fat, and/or muscle have been removed and the desired result has been achieved, the stitches are placed to complete the surgery.

As each patient is different, and there are a number of different blepharoplasty techniques to address every concern, a more comprehensive discussion about the surgery will be discussed in your pre-consultation with a patient care manager, followed by your consultation with Dr. Buonassisi.

Patients who are excellent candidates for these procedures have these concerns as they age or as a result of hereditary factors:

• Droopy or hooded eyelids

• People who do not have a natural eyelid crease

The first few days after the procedure, patients can expect to have some bruising, swelling, redness and tenderness in the treatment area. It is advised to sleep on several pillows to keep your head elevated for at least 2-3 days to help minimize swelling. Any soreness is easily managed by simply taking Tylenol. It typically takes approximately 7-10 days to see the swelling and bruising subside. It is best to minimize talking and chewing and we recommend following a soft diet for the first 48 hours following your procedure.

You must limit physical activity and exposure to excessive heat (sauna, hot tub, hot yoga, fire pits, UV light) for 2 weeks, and avoid alcohol for the first few days.

While some results will be visible shortly after your treatment, the final results will develop over a longer period of time, often 6-9 months, as the body produces more collagen and tightens the skin in the treated area(s). You will be given a compression facial wrap to wear home immediately following your procedure, and will be instructed to wear this around the clock for a few days, and then you can reduce it to 12 hours a day for the next 2 weeks.

Your treatment may take up to an hour. The length of your procedure will depend on the size of the treatment area(s). It is performed under local anaesthetic, such as lidocaine, to numb the area. This helps to ensure that you are pain-free and experience minimal or no discomfort during your procedure.

The FaceTite or AccuTite probe is then inserted through tiny incisions (puncture holes) made in the treatment area, generally below the ear and under the chin for FaceTite. Through this probe, RF heat is sent directly to the subdermal tissue. A surface probe is used externally to ensure the most effective delivery of RF heat to the targeted tissue. Once the area has been thoroughly treated with RF heat, the procedure is over. There is no need for stitches, as the necessary incisions are quite tiny. You will be quite swollen and may experience some bruising immediately following the treatment. You will also be required to wear a compression garment following your treatment as per your surgeon's instructions.

FaceTite and AccuTite are minimally invasive cosmetic procedures designed to tighten and contour the skin through radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis. The procedure begins with the application of local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort. Following this, a very small, carefully placed incision is made to allow for the insertion of the device beneath the skin. The device features a slender, internally cooled cannula that emits radiofrequency energy to precisely target and liquefy excess fat for removal while simultaneously stimulating collagen production. Radiofrequency-Assisted Lipolysis:

Due to swelling after your surgery, your upper lip may appear fuller and will settle after a couple of months. Because the results of a lip lift are permanent, you’ll come away with long-lasting, natural, and refreshed results the same day.

The most common procedure is called the Bullhorn Lip Lift, where Dr. Buonassisi removes the skin just below and to the sides of the nostrils and raises the upper lip to the desired position.

Your lip lift procedure takes about 1 hour, and is performed under local anaesthetic, such as lidocaine, to numb the area. This helps to ensure that you are pain-free and experience minimal or no discomfort during your surgery.

Dr. Buonassisi will begin by drawing an outline below your nostrils (resembling a bullhorn shape) to show where he will place the incisions. Dr. Buonassisi will then proceed by removing a tiny strip of skin and tissue, tightening the muscle, and lifting the lip to the desired new position, anchoring the skin to the base of the nose.

He will then complete the surgery by placing dissolvable stitches where the incisions were. These are placed in a strategic way so that any scarring will be disguised in the natural folds and creases of your nose and upper lip.

Recovery from otoplasty requires you to wear a dressing around the ears for the first two weeks post-surgery. It is normal to experience some bruising, discolouration and swelling around the ears. You can resume most normal activities, such as household chores, a brisk walk, or light exercise within a few days after the procedure. You can resume more vigorous, weight-based exercises once the dressing has been removed.

There are several implant types and insertion methods that can be used to achieve chin augmentation. Dr. Buonassisi carefully evaluates the facial profile and through discussion will recommend the size and shape of implant that would best suit the individual. Most commonly a small incision is strategically placed under the chin, so that any scarring is well-hidden. The soft tissues of the chin are then elevated away from the bone, and a small pocket is created under the periosteum (thick layer that envelops the bone) where the implant is inserted. The implant is then secured in the midline by dissolvable stitches.
