The beauty of this revolutionary treatment is how it treats the deeper layers of the skin using monopolar or bipolar energy in tandem with controlled resurfacing to the upper layers, simultaneously. By using these ultrafine needles to create controlled damage to your dermis, the micro-channels trigger the natural healing response in your skin to re-form smoother, healthier skin. The addition of radiofrequency is what sends heat deeper into the dermis, which is where collagen and elastin is produced. Controlled coagulation (heat) is the best way to stimulate large amounts of elastin and collagen, rebuilding and re-tightening the skin.

‍Bipolar Vs. Monopolar:

‍The addition of monopolar and bipolar energy wavelengths is what makes this treatment so customizable, and available to those with darker skin types.

• ‍Bipolar wavelengths are a more superficial, wider delivery of energy and is great for skin types 1-3 (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can be a risk for darker skin types).
• ‍Monopolar wavelengths are deeper, more focused delivery of energy, which allows for treatment of all skin types. Most skin treatment machines only offer the bipolar wavelength.

Potenza RF microneedling is a non-invasive treatment that can be performed on any part of the face or body that takes only about 30 minutes. The treatment is pain-minimal, but you will have the option for a topical numbing ointment if you would prefer, which takes about 20-30 minutes to take effect prior to treatment.

The treatment has you in a reclined and relaxed position, and the Potenza RF microneedling pen is gently stamped over your treatment area. Much like traditional microneedling, Potenza uses ultra fine needles that rapidly move to penetrate into the dermis to create controlled damage. Where this treatment differs from traditional microneedling is that as this happens, the machine also uses radiofrequency to deliver either a monopolar or bipolar energy wavelength, adding heat deeper into the skin, stimulating significant collagen and elastin production.

Treatment times may vary, however most treatments can be performed in 30-45 minutes or less. Potenza treatments are well-tolerated, with minimal post-treatment side effects, such as a mild to moderate burning sensation, mild pink flushed skin, potential swelling, possible light pinpoint bleeding, and temporary tingling.

‍Next Day: Mild pink flushed skin – easily covered with mineral makeup, swelling can last 24-48 hours.

‍3rd Day: Transitions to a dry texture for approximately 5 days (other people generally won’t even notice it!)

‍Results: Typically, you will see an overall brightness of the skin 1 week post-treatment, but the true magic of Potenza’s long-lasting results will be seen anywhere from 2-5 months after treatment. This is because it takes up to this long for collagen and elastin to rebuild and show on the more superficial layers of the skin.
