The Alma Hybrid laser works by delivering an innovative combination of fractional CO2 ablative energy with 1570 nm non-ablative energy to the skin’s surface—unseen in the market until the very introduction of Hybrid’s trademarked leading-edge technology.
The dual lasers are applied in a precise grid pattern in precise ratios and work in tandem (or separately as needed) when the laser is applied to the skin during treatment. The device’s advanced level of customizability allows for a very accurately tailored delivery of energy that, in the hands of a skilled provider, offers the most optimized ratio of results to downtime.
CO2 TECHNOLOGY: The fractional CO2 technology in the Hybrid laser creates microscopic channels in the skin while delivering the optimal blend of ablative, coagulative, and thermal effect, stimulating the body’s natural healing process and promoting collagen production.
1570 NM TECHNOLOGY: The non-ablative thermal energy bypasses the topmost layer of the skin and instead targets and heats deeper layers of tissue in microscopic channels, promoting new dermis synthesis to further enhance skin tightening and rejuvenation.
The Hybrid laser treatment is performed by our skilled medical professionals in the comfort of our state-of-the-art clinic. Prior to the procedure, a topical anesthetic is applied to minimize discomfort. Once numbed, the treatment provider will clean the face to prepare it for treatment, and then prepare the Hybrid machine by customizing the patient’s treatment settings.
When the patient is ready to begin, the laser is comfortably applied to the skin using Alma’s flagship ProScan handpiece in a stamp-like manner. The ProScan applicator boasts a cooled tip to enhance treatment safety and patient comfort, and offers rapid coverage of large surface areas for quick treatment times. The device is used to precisely target the areas of concern to stimulate collagen production for improved skin texture and tone. Depending on the extent of treatment needed, sessions typically last between 30 to 60 minutes.
During the treatment, you will lie down in a private treatment room for a session that typically lasts 30-60 minutes depending on the concern being treated. You will have had a topical anesthetic applied to your skin to minimize any discomfort felt from the laser.
Immediately after treatment, it’s normal to experience some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort, similar to a sunburn. These side effects are expected but temporary, and subside within 7 to 10 days. It’s essential to follow post-procedure care instructions provided by your treatment provider to ensure optimal results and minimize the risk of complications.
Results can vary depending on the individual, but you will begin to feel tangible results within about 1 to 2 weeks of treatment. Your skin will look firmer and clearer, and you may notice a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and texture. Optimal results are typically seen about 2 months after completing your Hybrid treatment plan, which for most will consist of 1 to 2 treatments depending on the severity of your concerns, spaced about 6 to 8 weeks apart. You can expect to see continued enhancement over several more weeks to months as your skin continues to produce collagen.
On average, patients will find their Hybrid laser results lasting between 6 to 18 months, but this number will depend on conditions treated, number of treatments done, and how results are maintained after treatment. You can come in for maintenance sessions anytime within a year after your treatment, depending on the depth of treatment.
