What Will Happen Before Your Facelift Surgery:

  • You will be well-prepared with a good sense of what to expect
  • Prior to the surgery, you will work closely with your support team at Dr. Buonasissi's office. They will provide you with detail pre and post op instructions.
  • We will schedule all of your follow-up appointments with Dr. Buonasissi

It's normal to feel nervous, plus a little thirsty and hungry, on the day of your facelift surgery. When you arrive to Dr. Buonasissi's office, all your medical forms have already been reviewed. You will be given a locker for your valuables and some surgical greens to change into. Remember to wear a button-up shirt or something similar that doesn't need to be pulled over your head. It's best to keep your personal items, including jewelry, to a minimum on the day of your procedure.

You will have a visit with Dr. Buonasissi where you will have the opportunity to have a final talk with him to calm your nerves. This is the time he may make some markings on your skin. You will have a final checkup with your nurse where you will be given some medications and your blood pressure and temperature will be taken. Next, it's time to head into the operating room where your procedure will begin.

After your surgery, your caretaker will take you into the recovery area. You will stay here for approximately half of the amount of time your procedure took, until you are feeling ready to go home. The nurse will review your home-care instructions with you before you leave for home.
