I'm Vomiting After My Rhinoplasty Surgery. What Should I Do?

While it is not the norm to experience vomiting after rhinoplasty surgery, a small percentage of patients do - and if this is the case for you, we are really sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Vomiting after surgery does need to be controlled, but don't call your surgeon just yet. There are a couple of things we request you to try:

  1. Have You Taken Your Anti-Neaseant? You were prescribed an anti-nausea to take until day 4 after you surgery and you will need to try this as a first measure to treat your vomiting. Start off my checking here to ensure you are taking your medications properly and find out more about what to do about vomiting.
  2. Still Vomiting? If you have taken your anti-nauseant as described here and you are still vomiting:
  • take an anti-nauseant by suppository - you can purchase these over the counter at your local pharmacy
  • if you have tried an anti-nauseant by suppository and you are still vomiting, call Dr. Buonassisi's office for further advice

This information is intended for Dr. Buonassisi's patients.
