Introduction to Hump Reduction Rhinoplasty

Introduction to Hump Reduction RhinoplastyHump reduction is a common objective in rhinoplasty in patients who have a bridge which is too high or that forms a discreet hump. That hump needs to be removed and that can be done through the inside of the nose either through a closed or open approach. Some people have a overall or generally high bridge and some people have a very discreet hump that they can see on profile - reducing the hump it is a very common objective. This is done through removal of cartilage that forms the bridge and bone that forms the bridge once the hump is reduced often the side walls of the nose need to be moved inward to reform the apex of the nose so they don't develop a flattening of the nose as a result of the hump reduction.
