Understanding the Range

Why does rhinoplasty cost vary?

Surgical complexity

A straightforward dorsal hump reduction requires less surgical time than a complex tip reconstruction or a case involving cartilage grafting. More complex anatomy means more time, more precision, and a higher fee.

Surgeon experience

Dr. Buonassisi has performed over 4,000 rhinoplasties. High-volume specialists command higher fees — and have lower revision rates. A revision rhinoplasty typically costs more than the original procedure.

Facility standard

Surgery at 8 West is performed in a private, purpose-built, accredited surgical facility — not a public hospital or shared OR. The facility fee reflects a dedicated nursing team, anaesthesiologist, and hospital-grade equipment.

Technique used

Preservation rhinoplasty and piezo ultrasonic techniques require specialised training and instrumentation. These approaches are associated with less swelling and faster recovery, but they add to surgical time and cost.

Revision vs. primary

Revision rhinoplasty — correcting a previous surgery — is almost always more complex than a primary procedure. Scar tissue, altered anatomy, and the need for cartilage grafting all contribute to a higher fee and longer surgical time.

Functional component

If your case includes a functional component (deviated septum, breathing obstruction), this is documented separately. The cosmetic and functional components are quoted individually, and the functional portion may be partially covered by insurance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cost & financing questions

Rhinoplasty pricing reflects the surgeon’s experience, surgical complexity, anaesthesia, facility standards, and the level of pre- and post-operative care included. At 8 West Clinic, your quote includes care from a high-volume rhinoplasty specialist, an accredited surgical facility, anaesthesia, surgical planning, and follow-up appointments. The goal is not to be the lowest-cost option — it is to provide specialist-level care with transparent pricing and no hidden fees.

Cosmetic rhinoplasty is not covered by MSP or private insurance. If your surgery includes a functional component, such as a deviated septum or breathing obstruction, that portion may be documented separately and may be eligible for partial coverage depending on your case and insurance provider. The cosmetic portion is quoted separately.

Financing options are available for qualified patients. During your consultation process, our team can provide information about available financing partners, payment timelines, and how to apply. Your final written quote will outline the total surgical fee so you can review payment or financing options before choosing a surgery date.

Yes. When you proceed with surgery, your consultation fee is applied toward your surgical fee. Your quote will be provided in writing after your consultation and will clearly outline what is included.

Your surgical quote is designed to be all-inclusive for the procedure itself, including the surgeon fee, anaesthesia, surgical facility, and standard pre- and post-operative care. Separate costs may include prescriptions, travel, accommodation, time off work, or any optional services not included in your surgical plan. Your team will review this with you before surgery so there are no surprises.
