Questions About This Gallery

  • Most of the photos in this gallery were taken at the 2–4 month mark after surgery. At this stage, the majority of swelling has resolved and the result is clearly visible, but the nose continues to refine for 12–18 months. A small number of cases include photos at 6 months, 1 year, or longer — these are noted in the case details. Early photos (3–6 weeks) are occasionally included to show the recovery timeline, not the final result.
  • The cases shown represent a cross-section of Dr. Buonassisi's rhinoplasty practice — not a curated selection of only the best outcomes. Results vary based on anatomy, skin thickness, cartilage strength, healing, and the specific changes requested. What is achievable for you depends on your individual anatomy and goals, which is why a thorough consultation is the essential first step.
  • No. All photographs are unretouched. Lighting conditions may vary between before and after photos because they are taken at different appointments, but no digital editing has been applied to the images. What you see is the actual surgical result.
  • Rhinoplasty results are considered permanent. The structural changes made during surgery remain stable over time, though natural aging of the skin and soft tissues continues.
  • Use the technique and ethnicity filters to narrow the gallery to cases that reflect your own anatomy and concerns. If you have a specific concern — a dorsal hump, tip definition, ethnic rhinoplasty — filtering by technique will show the most relevant cases. If you cannot find a case that closely matches your anatomy, that is a question to raise at your consultation: Dr. Buonassisi can discuss comparable cases from his practice that may not be published.
  • Yes — bringing reference photos to your consultation is encouraged. They are a useful starting point for communicating your goals. However, the surgical plan is always based on your own anatomy, not on replicating another patient's result. Computer imaging at the consultation will give you a more accurate preview of what is achievable for your specific structure.
