Combined with skin laxity and sagging skin of the lower face, a weak jaw area contributes to an aged look. Chin or pre-jowl implants can be appropriate in some patients when combined with their face lift. This creates more definition to the lower face and a more attractive neck angle on profile view. Some patients are born with a recessive lower face, which can be improved with a chin implant.
