What we offer

From at-home care to surgery, planned together.

Hair thins for different reasons, so there's no single answer. Your plan starts with an assessment of your hair and scalp, and uses only what suits you. When one treatment alone won't get you there, your team combines them, in the right order.

And because 8 West Well is part of 8 West Clinic, your team can look at the whole picture, including hormones, when that's relevant.

One example plan: an assessment first, then at-home care and a series of TED, with regenerative aesthetic treatments added if they suit you, and maintenance visits over time. Yours uses only what suits your hair, your scalp and your goals.

TED, PRP and red light

TED by expert medical aestheticians; red light sessions with our 8 West Well team. All under physician oversight.

  • TEDNeedle-free. Ultrasound and air pressure carry a growth factor serum deep into the scalp.A series of 3, then maintenance every 3–6 months
  • PRP (platelet-rich plasma)A small sample of your own blood is spun to concentrate the platelets. It's used on the scalp as part of hair restoration.
  • Red light bedHealth optimization technology: a full-body bed with red, green and blue light and near-infrared light, each absorbed at a different depth. Offered on its own, and some people add it to other treatments.10–20 minute sessions

Surgery

Hairline lowering

By Dr. Thomas Buonassisi, MD, FRCSC, Specialist in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, with a practice limited to facial plastic surgeries.

  • Hairline lowering (forehead reduction)For a high forehead, the hairline is moved forward in one surgery. The incision and the new hairline are planned around your anatomy.Recovery usually 1–2 weeks
  • Who it suitsPeople whose hairline is stable. If your hair is still thinning, your team will talk you through the non-surgical options first.

Regenerative aesthetic treatments

Hair restoration from your own biology.

These treatments are prepared from you: platelets from your blood, a little of your own fat, and a serum made from your own hair follicles. Which suits you depends on your hair, your scalp and your goals, and that's what your consultation works out.

How nano fat starts

It starts with a little of your own fat.

A small amount of your own fat is collected, broken down and filtered into a fine liquid, then placed in the scalp. Nano fat can sit in the same plan as TED, PRP and your at-home care.

How it's prepared

Your follicles go to a lab, where a serum is made just for you.

How it's used

Applied to the scalp, often after microneedling. What's collected is stored, so more serum can be made later.

Exosomes, a serum containing growth factors and signalling proteins, can also be added to in-clinic treatments. Whether they suit you is decided at your consultation.

Questions

Your questions, answered plainly.

What happens after I contact you?

A patient care manager calls you. The call is complimentary, with no commitment. They answer your questions about treatments, timing and cost and, if you'd like to go ahead, book your consultation.

If you asked for the guide only, we email it to you right away. We only call if you tick the box.

I'm not sure why my hair is thinning.

That's common, and it's where your consultation starts. Hair can thin for different reasons, such as genetics, hormones or stress, and the reason shapes the plan. Tell us what you've noticed, and your team will look at your scalp and your history before suggesting options.

Do I need surgery?

Not necessarily. Surgery is one option among many here. Hairline lowering is for a high forehead and suits people whose hairline is stable. If your hair is still thinning, your team will talk you through the non-surgical options first.

Does TED use needles?

No. TED uses ultrasound and air pressure to carry growth factors into the scalp. It's planned as a series of 3 treatments, with maintenance visits every 3 to 6 months.

What's the difference between PRP and nano fat?

Both are prepared from your own body. PRP comes from a small sample of your blood, spun to concentrate the platelets. Nano fat comes from a small amount of your own fat, which is collected, then broken down and filtered into a fine liquid. Both are used on the scalp. Which suits you depends on your hair and your goals.

Is hair restoration for men and women?

Yes. Our hair treatments are for men and women.

How soon will I see a change?

It depends on you and your plan, so we don't promise timelines. Hair grows slowly, and some treatments, like TED, include maintenance visits. Your team will talk you through what to expect at your consultation. Results vary.

Who does my treatment?

The right member of our team for each step. TED is done by expert medical aestheticians, and hairline lowering by Dr. Buonassisi. Your consultation covers who will be part of each step. Every service runs under physician oversight.

How much does it cost?

All treatments at 8 West Clinic are private pay. Your patient care manager can talk you through typical costs on your first call. Your exact cost depends on your plan.
